OSCE Academy Scholarships for Bachelor of Arts in Economics

The OSCE Academy scholarship application is now open to international students for 2025-2029. The Academy aims to advance the OSCE’s ideals throughout Central Asia through undergraduate and post-graduate education, professional training, research, and intellectual exchange.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) program in economics annually accepts up to 20 students on a highly competitive basis. The Citizens of Afghanistan, Mongolia, and Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) and other participating State of OSCE citizens can apply for this scholarship.

BA program in economics is for gifted candidates with intense study and work habits who want to learn about economics, international development studies, and issues of good governance. Students who live in Bishkek for the entire duration of their studies can apply for this full-time undergraduate program.
Interested applicants who wish to pursue their bachelor’s degree at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, can apply today and study on a fully funded scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements for admission to apply for the OSCE Academy Scholarships:

  • Should hold citizenship of one of the countries, including Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, or from any other participating State of the OSCE
  • Provide a certificate of secondary general or secondary vocational education
  • Prove advanced level of English language
  • Kyrgyz Republic’s citizens should provide the National Test Certificate (primary test and mathematics).

Required Documents

Applicants should provide and upload the following documents:

  • Passport or birth certificate
  • Personal Statement (200-500 words)
  • Education documents (High school graduation certificate and transcript – Shahadatnama)
  • Official Language score (if available)

Benefits

OSCE Academy will provide the following costs and items:

  • Full tuition fees exemption
  • Monthly 300 Euros stipend (4 years).
  • Visa fees and a round-trip (economy class) travel from the applicant’s home country to Bishkek.

Application process

Please register and complete the online application forms to apply for the OSCE Academy Scholarships. There are two application forms, one for Kyrgyz citizens applicants and the other one for citizens of other eligible countries that have four stages as follows:

Admission Process for Kyrgyz Citizens

  • Stage One: Registration for internal online examination
  • Stage Two: English Proficiency and Mathematic Test
  • Stage Three: Register and apply via the Ministry of Education and Science’s admission portal with National Test Certificate (ОРТ)
  • Stage Four: Candidates who have passed the preliminary test and mathematics will receive a “Recommendation for enrollment.”

Note 1: Candidates should submit all required documents in time. The Academy will not consider the late submission.

Note 2: If the required number of students will not receive enrollment, the next round enrollment opens through the Ministry of Education and Science portal.

Admission Process for International Citizens

  • Stage One: Register for the admission tests using the online form before March 23, 2025. Only short-listed candidates will receive an invitation for the 2nd stage, testing.
  • Stage Two: Admission Test on Mathematics and English Proficiency Test dates and places
  • Stage Three: Candidates who have passed the preliminary test will be invited for an online interview
  • Stage Four: In this stage applicants should register through the Kyrgyz Republic’s Ministry of Education and Science admission portal to submit the required documents.

Note 1: The Academy WILL NOT enroll candidates with no registration on the Ministry of Education of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic’s portal for national and international candidates.

Note 2: The Academy WILL NOT enroll candidates who did not take the Academy’s Test.
